Defensive tackle Cam Goode, a transfer from UCF, has announced his commitment to Michigan.
Goode appeared in 13 games with three starts last season for the Knights. He had 24 tackles, four tackles for loss, four forced fumbles, three sacks and an interception.
Goode was a three-star prospect who was No. 554 in the 247Sports composite rankings for the class of 2018. He signed with Virginia Tech out of high school at St. John’s College in Washington D.C. but transferred before playing a game. He spent three seasons at UCF, appearing in 33 games with five starts.
Listed at 6-foot-2 and 315 pounds, Goode will add size and depth to a Michigan defensive line that lacks experience outside of returning starter Mazi Smith.

How does Goode fit at Michigan?
Austin Meek, Michigan beat writer: With Christopher Hinton declaring for the NFL Draft, the interior defensive line became an area that needed reinforcements.
For the second year in a row, Michigan went into the transfer portal to add a bigger-bodied defensive lineman who can occupy multiple gaps. Oregon State transfer Jordan Whittley didn’t play much in his lone year with the program, but Goode has a shot at a bigger role if he can pick things up quickly.
Outside of Smith and third-year defensive tackle Kris Jenkins, the Wolverines are heavy on freshmen and sophomores on their interior defensive line. Goode provides an experienced option that can bridge the gap until the younger players are ready.
